Task

In many industries, businesses face the need to quickly process liability waivers. Clients required a mobile/web solution to automate the signing process.

Solution

The startup Otter Waiver, with the support of the Innovedge Soft team, set out to address this challenge for their clients in the United States. Our task was to develop a system comprising a web application as well as iOS and Android mobile apps, through which clients could complete the necessary forms and sign a “Waiver of Liability.”

Prototyping and Design

Once the core business requirements were defined, the first step in implementation was prototyping. At this stage, the primary focus was on designing the application’s architecture: identifying its key screens, mapping the user flow, and determining which third-party services would be integrated.

Building startups is all about rapidly delivering an MVP (Minimum Viable Product), which often involves leveraging third-party services rather than developing complex mechanisms from scratch. In our case, it was necessary to plan the use of external libraries and services for electronic document signing, PDF generation, and sending SMS messages to users.

Development

During the implementation of the applications, our development team took into account the client’s requirement for cross-platform mobile code, as well as the use of a modern framework for building the web application.

For the mobile application, we used .NET MAUI (the evolution of Microsoft’s Xamarin.Forms), which allowed us to maintain a single codebase for both iOS and Android apps. Since the backend of the entire system was also built on the .NET platform, development costs were significantly reduced without compromising quality — the same team of developers could work seamlessly across different components of the system.

The web application shared the same backend as the mobile apps. The frontend was developed using the popular Angular framework, which is commonly paired with .NET for modern web development.

Result

Developing the MVP for the startup allowed us to achieve the main goal within a short timeframe and at a cost acceptable to the client — delivering fully functional applications published in the major mobile app stores for Otter Waiver’s first users.

The application continues to operate and evolve, the Otter Waiver client base is growing, and the system is being enhanced with new features.
