Task

The client company provides online consultation services with leading experts across business, finance, and many other industries. With the growing number of freelance experts, the company decided to digitize its operations by automating expert registration, enabling clients to search for registered experts, and streamlining the scheduling and delivery of consultations.

Solution

The Innovedge Soft team was tasked with developing a suite of applications to automate the client’s business processes:

  • An administrative web portal to manage new and existing experts, as well as scheduled and completed online consultations
  • An integrated chatbot, trained on a local knowledge base, to assist company staff with routine tasks
  • A client-facing web portal to search for relevant experts and book online consultations
  • A web portal for registering new experts

Since the client is an active user of Microsoft Azure tools, a key requirement for the implementation was to leverage the latest versions of the .NET platform.

Prototyping

Once the core business requirements of the system were defined, the first step in implementation was prototyping. At this stage, the primary focus was on designing the application’s architecture: determining its key screens, defining the user flow, and identifying which third-party services would be integrated.

Design

Once the prototype was ready, our designers prepared three different design concepts based on the client’s brand book. While having a brand book is not mandatory, it is highly recommended. If unavailable, our designers rely on the client’s preferences and input.
Typically, a design concept includes three key screens. In this case, we presented the client with the login screen, the customer information form, and a generated document form prepared for signing.
After the client approved the final design concept, our designers completed the remaining screens for the prototype, ensuring a consistent and intuitive user experience across the application.

Development

During the implementation of the microservices architecture, our team leveraged the latest tools available within the .NET platform.
To remain fully within the .NET ecosystem, we used the Blazor WebAssembly framework for the frontend of the web application — a modern and efficient frontend development tool that is an integral part of the .NET platform.

In the absence of a mobile application, special attention was given to responsive design: hundreds of vendors used a wide range of mobile devices in their work, and the user interface of our applications needed to display correctly and comfortably on every device.
A critical part of the system was the integration solutions, which enabled the web portals to interact with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and automatically create and launch online events via the Twilio telephony service.

Results

All planned applications launched in 6 months and now form the client’s core IT infrastructure.
